If the law
of action and consequence, if the nemesis of existence were not negotiable,
then where would divine mercy stand? Frankly, I cannot accept cruelty in
divinity. What is real, that which is complete perfection, that which has
diverse names, such as Tao, Aum, Inri, Sein, Allah, Brahma, God, or better
said gods, etc., in no way can be something without mercy, cruel, tyrannical,
etc. Because of all of this, I repeat emphatically that karma is negotiable.
When an inferior law is transcended by a superior law,
the superior law washes away the inferior law.
Do good deeds to pay off your debts. The lion of the law is combated with the scale.
He who has with what to pay, pays and does well in business;
he who does not have with what to pay, pays with pain.
If on one pan of the cosmic scale we put good deeds and
on the other the bad deeds, it is evident that karma will depend on the
weight on the scale.
If the pan with bad deeds weighs more, the result will
be bitterness. However, it is possible to increase the weight of the good
deeds on the pan of the pointer of the scale and in this manner we will
cancel karma without the need of suffering. All that we need to do is do
good deeds to increase the weight of the pan of good actions.
Now you will comprehend my good friends, how wonderful
it is to do good; there is no doubt that upright thinking, upright feeling and upright action is the best of business
transactions.
We should never protest against karma. What is important is to know how to negotiate
it.
Unfortunately, the only thing that people think of when
they are faced with great bitterness is to wash their hands as Pilate did,
to say they have not done evil, that they are not to blame, that they are
just souls, etc.
I tell those who are in misery, to review their conduct,
to judge themselves, to sit even for a moment on the bench of the accused,
and that after a quick analysis of themeslves, to modify their conduct.
If those who find themselves without a job would become chaste, infinitely
charitable, placid, accommodating one hundred percent, it is obvious that
they would radically alter the cause of their misfortune, consequently
modifying the effect.
