My next car was another 1975 Monza 2+2. It was in near mint condition when I got it. Perfect maroon paint, 262 cid 2bbl V8, TH350 transmission, 2.73 posi. I had plans for this car. I started saving money after getting a part time job in high school and started off with simple things. Carburetor and intake manifold were the first on the list. Next came a set of Hooker Super Comp headers. Drove this for a bit and installed a Mallory dual point distributor and got ahold of a 10" 3000 stall converter and had the trans prepped for an RPM shift kit.

Ran this for a while and when stock, it ran in the 18's. With the above mods, it dropped into the low 15's.

I had enough money saved up that I started to build a large journal 300hp 327. I installed a fiberglass hood for weight savings. Decided to swap the rear from my other Monza with the 3.42's and installed a Weiand Tunnel Ram with dual 450 Holleys, a mechanical Crane cam and dropped the times down to high 13's. After having some fun, an ex brother in law of mine sold me an open carrier and set of 3.73's from an 89 Trans Am and I promptly installed them with my 26 spline side gears. I did the pinion modification to fit the factory Monza bearings and use the F-body yoke and larger u-joints. Around late 92, I got ahold of an 85 200-4R and built it up and stuffed that in with a 2000 stall. I finally got it down into the low 13's at 108mph with some tuning. I was running some BFG 235/50/13's on the rear since at the time I didn't know about swapping in S-10 axles for the 5-lug pattern. I primered the car in 87 when I found a different paint color that I wanted. To this day, the car is still primered.
