Hey y’all! First of all thank you so freakin’ much for coming to my site. Some of y’all have wanted to see a link on the site that was a bit more personal and not so focused on career & the industry. I think you get a pretty good idea of my history and what makes me tick through some of the articles and interviews as well as the director’s note on “The Moment After” site; however, I’ll do my best at citing some tid bits of information and quotes that I have found important, encouraging, and/or insightful. Stuff like that. Enjoy.

A little lesson on living life from George Carlin:
“Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight, & height. Keep only positive, cheerful friends. Never let the brain idle. Enjoy the simple things. Laugh often, loud, and long. Laugh until you gasp for breath. Realize that “tears happen”. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with you your entire life is you. BE ALIVE while you are alive. Surround yourself with what you love- whether it’s family, pets, plants hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge. Cherish your health: if it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. Don’t take guilt trips. Take trips to the mall, or to the next country, but NOT to where the guilt is. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. And ALWAYS REMEMBER: life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.”

As I say in a few of the interviews, I don’t know where I’d be without my awesome mutt of a dog, Grendle. Spelled differently than, but named after, the monster who threatens Hrothgar's kingdom in “Beowulf” (the oldest surviving epic in British literature). P.S. She's laying on a quilt I won on The Price is Right! Snazzy.

“Courage is the greatest of all virtues. Because if you haven’t courage, you may not have an opportunity to use any of the others.” - Samuel Johnson

“War is not a civilized answered to conflict in the 21st century…
We have to reclaim what it means to be patriotic.. ..
When you hear people speaking for themselves, it breaks down stereotypes that fuel the bigotry that feeds the hate.”  - Amy Goodman

If there's one person that gets Person of the Year  in my book, it's Amy Goodman; independent news person and host of http://www.democracynow.org her insights, interviews and journalism are unparalleled and subjects are covered you won't learn about on network tv.

On that note, supporting public television and radio is so important. I know, I know... BORING. But it’s not! I promise!!! News, information, and music which is not controlled by corporations is vital. If you have Dish TV, you gotta’ check out Free Speech TV (http://www.freespeech.org). However, I am addicted to “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central and “Da Ali G Show” on HBO. They KILL me. The best and funniest stuff on TV! Check ‘em out.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy....
We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools”
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

"The trouble with being in the rat race is even if you win, you're still a rat." - Lilly Tomlin

“To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing it’s best to make you into everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting....It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.”
- E E Cummings

There are two people for whom I am extremely thankful.
One is my web designer and dear friend Matt Crabtree
http://www.appealingtree.com and http://www.mattcrabtree.com. And the other is my mentor and acting coach Diana Castle, who has been the single most important influence on me.

"20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover."
- Mark Twain

“This above all: To thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou cans't not be false to any man.” - Shakespeare

“We need a new system of values, a system of the organic unity between humankind and nature and the ethic of global responsibility”
- Mikhail S. Gorbachev

I was honored to be invited to a dinner honoring Mikhail S. Gorbachev, one of the greatest revolutionaries of the 20th century. I am horrified by the consequences we have had on our planet and how little is being done to sustain our planet. Please visit his environmental organization’s web site http://www.greencrossinternational.net. At the event I had the opportunity to sit with Leonardo DiCaprio at his table and am impassioned by his commitment to the environment. http://www.leonardodicaprio.org

There's a little known poet by the name of C.P.Cavafy. His words will blow you away. Click here http://ithaca.rice.edu/kz/Misc/Ithaka.html  to read one of the most beautiful poems you have ever read. And which of y'all have seen What The Bleep Do  We Know? (http://www.whatthebleep.com) If you're like me, you've seen it time and time again. Freakin' amazing. I was turned on n to "The Hidden Messages in the Water" by Masaru Emoto via that film and after reading it ordered about 15 copies to give to friends, family, etc. I urge you to check it out on Amazon or in your local bookstore. You'll thank me - I promise.

“We do not come to you pleading your understanding or begging your tolerance... We come to you affirming our pride in our lifestyle, affirming the validity in our right to seek and to maintain meaningful emotional relationships. And affirming our right to participate in the life of this country on equal basis with every citizen.” — activist Jim Foster from the 1972 televised Democratic National Convention:

"It's incumbent upon all of us to let our families and friends know the true status of gay relationships in America -- that we are unionless. We pay equal taxes but are eligible for far fewer benefits -- 1,094 to be exact. We have neither inheritance rights nor access to our partners' social security or pensions. Most of us don't even have the right to visit our partners in the hospital. And the national GOP wants to enshrine this oppression in the very constitution that guarantees everyone else freedom and the pursuit of happiness. We've all heard the stories of German Jews who said nothing to their neighbors as the Nazis rose to power. Let's learn a lesson from history and not wait until it's too late to let the world know that we're under assault from people who mean business." - Columnist Louis Weisberg

"Dance as tho' no one is watching you,
Love as tho' you have never been hurt before,
Sing as tho' no one can hear you,
Live as tho' heaven is on earth." -unknown
