George grew up on the east end of Long Island in the Hamptons, graduating from Hampton Bays High School in 1964.

He then joined the U. S. Navy where he served for 4 years in the Naval Weather Service. In January 1969, he was hired by the Weather Bureau at Lubbock, Tx. After transferring several times mainly for promotion, he became the "Data Acquisition Program Manager" (DAPM) at the Weather Forecast Office at Goodland, Ks. Prior duty stations were: Boston, Little Rock, Memphis, Apalachicola, Brownsville, Midland and Waco. After seven years in that position, he retired on January 31, 2001 with 36 years of Federal service. He has a daughter in Louisiana and a son and two grandaughters in Peachtree City, Georgia. He currently resides in beautiful Wildwood Resort City, Tx. with his best friend Lana. Lana grew up in Waco and Beaumont Texas. She has a daughter,son, and grandchildren in Beaumont. Lana retired from banking in 2005.
