SUBJECT: AEROSAPCE EDUCATION WEEKEND
Aerospace Education Weekend is set for 4 - 6
September 2009.
PLEASE READ
THIS CAREFULLY - Some things have changed at the last minute!
The activities planned include:
· Paper aircraft design and competition
· Balloon building and launching by teams
· Aircraft kit building and flying
· Classes on aerodynamics and control of flight
· Orientation flights (As local funds allow.)
· For seniors and cadets over 18 we will have Mission
Scanner and Observer training flights (CAPF 101 Req’d).
-We have an approved training mission and budget!
For second or more year participants
we have added
· Model rocket building and launch for completion
of the TITAN section of the Model Rocketry Badge
· This involves 2 styles of rockets and the test
and classes on the forces involved in rocketry
Cost
per person is $15. You MUST bring $$ for your
meals and snacks. We estimate about $25 per day depending on how much you eat. We will have a dayroom with snacks and refreshments. You must
bring bedrolls (sleeping bags, or other), personal toiletries, and uniforms for 2 days.

The
uniform of the day will BDU’s or Blue BDU’s. If you wish to go to the
museum we prefer that you wear the blue service uniform or the CAP gray and white or blue and white uniform.
If you do not have a service uniform please substitute gray/whites or blue/whites for seniors or black/white combinations for cadets.
Arrival Time is set for Friday
evening about 1800 hrs local time in Oshkosh. Departure time is set for Sunday
evening. We will have cadets call home Sunday to verify their arrival time in
Milwaukee. As of now arrival at Timmerman Field is planned for 1900 hours
local time, or 7 p.m.
