MEMORANDUM
FOR ALL UNITS IN WISCONSIN WING
FROM: WI-205/CC
SUBJECT: Military Ball 2009
This year the Military Ball will be held at the Milwaukee War Memorial Center, 750 North Lincoln Memorial Drive, on
21 March 2009.
The doors open at 1830 and the dance begins at 1900. After you go through
the receiving line please pick up a glass of punch, you will need it for toasts.
After the guests have arrived, the Master of Ceremonies will welcome everyone to the dance. The MC will propose a series of toasts, please echo his words. After
the toasts, the dance will commence with the Commander's Waltz. We will start
with the most senior commander in the room and follow with unit commanders, and cadet commanders, and then everyone can join
in.
About a third through the dance we will hold the crowning of the King and Queen of the Ball. The instructions will be given to the unit representatives at the dance.
When the King and Queen are crowned they will start the Theme dance. The
dance will continue until 2300 hours.
Later in the dance we will announce the winners of this year's Lt Col William Cooper Award and present the certificates.
The ticket prices have two categories: $14 per person or $25 couple. If your unit needs tickets please call Major Julie Sorenson, or LTC Elizabeth Curry. The money for tickets should be sent to SE WI Group at 306 South Main Street,
Delavan, WI 53115-1727.
We want to encourage units to bring their flags and guidons to the dance to bring back the military flavor of the
ball. If your unit brings your squadron flag we will refund the price of 1 ticket.
(1 per squadron)
Please consult CAPM 39-1 for the appropriate uniform for the dance (Senior Mess Dress, Cadet Formal
Uniform or appropriate civilian attire for both seniors and cadets). If you have
questions contact your unit commander.
We will have soft drinks available for sale and free snacks throughout the evening.
I hope you will join us this year and share in this annual celebration.
