Due to recent changes, we are meeting at building 931 on the base. You will need to submit your social security number to the Squadron Commander in order to get on the base. Also, to get past the front gate, you need to have a driver's license and CAP membership card.

Building 931

Rickenbacker International Airport

From I-270:

  1. Take Exit 49, Alum Creek Drive south to Rickenbacker International Airport. (If you're coming from the east, turn left from the stoplight at the end of the exit. If from the west, take a right at the stoplight.)

  2. Continue south on Alum Creek Drive until you get to 2 large concrete signs on either side of the road which say "Rickenbacker International Airport". Turn right on the road just before those signs (Port Road).

  3. Turn left on 2nd Street. Follow it until it ends at a yield sign.

  1. Turn left at the front gate. You'll see a sign for the base, a gate, and the guard building. REMEMBER! You need to have a driver's license (for the drivers) and CAPID card to get in the gate! (if you're not on the list)

  2. After you pass the gate, go straight until the road ends. Turn right at the end of the road.

  3. Follow the curve around until just before it ends. You'll see where it veers off to the right. Follow it.

  4. There will be a long straightaway with a stop in the middle. At the end of the straightaway, there will be barriers that only one car can get around, so watch out for traffic coming the other way.

  5. Go through the barriers, then left past a small guard shack and a humvee. Turn right at the next road.

  6. Building 931 is at the end of that road. There will be a fence at the end of the road. Turn left into the fenced area and make an immediate right into the parking lot. You can enter the building through the door at the parking lot.
