LONDON & PARIS

I began with a stroll to the Place de la Concorde.
It was wonderful seeing the Eiffel Tower , the obelisk and the fountains
all together so I took a shot of that and had a tourist take a picture
of me as well. I strolled further into the Jardin des Tuilerries. It must
be very beautiful in the spring. Now the trees were losing their leaves
and chairs were still left by the fountain where people would sit and watch
the beauty in warmer days. There was a sweet statue of what I guessed was
Hercules with these little ones crawling all over him. I was just 1oo yards
from the Musee D'Orangerie. I was hoping it'd be open and it was. The attendants
were very organized and I couldn't go inside without getting rid of my
backpack. It was a very small museum. There were some Picassos which were
exciting to see but the real draw was Monet's Water Lilies. I walked downstairs
and saw an awesome site. The whole curved room had 4 paintings on each
side of the walls. They were gigantic and you had to step far away to see
any definition. I thought of my Mom who had raised us all with art and
all its glory. Monet is one of her favorites. It was great getting real
close and seeing the colors of strokes that would create such a masterpiece.
Buying some gifts, I decided to walk along the Seine towards my next site.
I was happy to find that I could take stairs down and actually be right
by the water. All the great movies had shot here or made tribute to this
site, including An American in Paris. I watched the yellow leaves fall
off the trees lining the cobblestone walk - I felt I was back in time.
