Then off to the highlight, Keukenhoff Gardens
in Lisse, a land of lakes with swans gliding by hills of tulips, arranged
in every glorious pattern imaginable with willow trees swaying in the wind.
It was breathtaking. I felt like a little kid running from spot to spot
taking snapshots. They had put in some other fragrant plants to make the
scents a sensual experience as well. There were all types of tulips, all
in different stages of bloom, purple rigid plums standing up strong, light
white ones beginning to unfold, golden rays fully in bloom. The colors
were all arranged in one colorful group next to another so the effect was
rainbows of flowers looking like heaven on earth. I snapped picture after
picture, trying to capture the glory that mother nature has bestowed upon
these beauties.
