William Dolphus Richardson & Sadie Myrtle Peele
William Dolphus Richardson was born May 17, 1895 in Moore County. On April 14, 1918, he married Sadie Myrtle Peele. She was born January 18, 1898. Sadie's parents were Pleasant Peele and Ida Hyatt of Surry County. |
| Will and Sadie's first home was the log cabin where Will's parents lived when they were first married. Until J.D. Richardson died, Will worked for his father on the farm and drove the car for him. J.D. had a reputation for being demanding, and his younger son well earned the independence he inherited upon his father's death. Will said that no one would ever tell him what to do again. He continued to farm, on his own. |
