1 -- _(Girdner Cemetery.)_Mercer Missouri.
Wed, eve, Sept.17th, Dave & Rila camped at the Girdner Cemetery a few miles north of Mercer.

2 -- "Miss" Cora(Girdner) McReynolds. (A Distant Girdner cousin.)
The next day we had lunch with her at a local cafe, owned and operated by one of her former students. Later we visited Miss Cora at her home in Mercer. She has lived there most of her 86 years & taught school in Mercer for 50 years. Several of her former students were eating there and talked to us.
Part of her cup collection may be seen here in the picture of Miss Cora & Rila in her kitchen.

3 -- Miss Cora & Dave W. Girdner
She enjoyed Dave’s pictures, appreciated discussing family history & is a very bright and entertaining person, full of life, interesting to talk to and was delighted to have us there. Over the years Miss Cora received many awards for her yard with many flowers, gazebo & neat garden structures. We spent the night in her driveway with her lovely yard in view.

4 -- "Girdner Lumber & Post"
Next morning we met another of Miss Cora's students, (Thomas) Earl Girdner (& wife Carolyn), who own & operate the 'Earl Girdner Lumber & Post' in Mercer.
They have 4 boys, one who likes Arizona, so I left pics & info about the Girdner Trail at Sedona AZ.

5 -- Girdner Gravestone _Early Cemetery
Leaving Mercer south a few miles, we stopped at the 'Early' Cemetery & viewed more Girdner (& McReynold, etc.) gravestones. S. FLOY & EARL D. GIRDNER were (Thomas) Earl Girdner's parents. ---For Sophia Floy Girdner's Obituary, see:
