For Bryan...
1. How to pick just one? When we got Bailey, you didn't want to take a night to think about it because you didn't want her to have to spend another night at the shelter. And your ability to come up with a great cover story at Disneyland.
2. Incubus - "Wish You Were Here."
3. Go to a Wild game at the Xcel Energy Center together. Or go on a freakin' honeymoon!
4. Kimmiegoonigh.
5. Laying in the snow at Hyak, wondering if you were going to kiss me on our first date.
6. "When I count my blessings, I count you twice." - Martin Chiles and "We cannot really love anybody with whom we never laugh." – Agnes Repplier
7. Where would you go and what would you do on your dream vacation?

For Teri...
Since Teri posted the questions on her site, I'm answering the questions for her, even though she didn't directly ask for the analysis:

1. Your ability to plan on running a mundane errand with a friend and end up on an adventure (often out of the country).
2. "Perfect Way" by Scritti Politti (preferably while driving across one of the floating bridges with the sunroof open).
3. Go look at Christmas lights in Derek Boogaard's neighborhood. ;)
4. ...A coyote wearing a Devo hat...
5. Probably holding hands in the woods in the Kitsap peninsula during a pit stop on our way to EndFest.
6. Fran Lebowitz -"That I am totally devoid of sympathy for, or interested in, the world of groups is directly attributed to the fact that my two greatest needs - smoking and plotting revenge – are basically solitary pursuits."
7. What's your favorite memory of something we did together?

For Vera...
1.  You're a goddess, in every sense of the word.
2.  Charlie's Angels (of course).
3.  Go to a San Jose Sharks/Minnesota Wild hockey game.
4.  58.234 percent Chaos!
5.  Hair flipping and finger-as-gun posing at the Santa Cruz boardwalk.
6.  "Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling."
7.  What made you decide to still stay in touch with me after the breakup, given that I probably wan't the most fun reminder of what had happened?

7 Questions (or, 6 Questions and an Answer)
I can't claim credit for this one, since my friend Vera posted it first, but...

Ask me and...

1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3: I'll name something we should do together.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people.

What The?
So I'm totally creeped out by this whole Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes baby thing.  I just don't understand it.  She just had a movie come out, and she didn't do ANY press?  You can't escape from Tom these days, pontificating on everything under the sun.  What a wanker.  I really want to see MI-III, but he's such a turn-off that Bryan and I are actually debating whether we can handle having to deal with him for two hours!

I think this whole baby thing is some sort of creepy "Rosemary's Baby" type thing.  I'll bet you dollars to donuts that within a year, Tom and Katie will be broken up, and he'll have the kid.  She's looked brainwashed for months, with that god-awful zombie fake smile, and all he can talk about is his upcoming movie.

Weird, weird, weird.  Good luck to their kid.

The Warranty on Your Immune System Has Expired
Sorry for the lack of posts (and emails, to those of you out there who've written recently - I promise I'm going to buckle down this weekend), but after the AAA Convention in Minneapolis, I managed to get sick.  This year, my immune system seems to be performing rather poorly, with more than my usual share of colds and viruses.  I shouldn't be surprised after the trip - a grand total of four two-hour segments on a plane with 150 strangers pretty much guarantees at least a cold.  What I didn't anticipate was one that would hang on, and on, and on.  I also managed to pick up the stomach virus that was going around work when I returned, and that knocked me for a loop, too.  So I'm on the mend, but slowly, and I'm still producing more mucus than any self respecting nose should.

I promise my recent Minnesota Hockey Adventures post is coming this weekend, and I'm determined to do a better job of posting, even if it's just random stuff.

What day is it?
If it's Thursday, then I must be in Minneapolis.

I left San Diego on Friday, and flew to Seattle. Thanks to my fabulous boss, Nancy, I was able to catch an earlier flight that got me in around 7 (even with weather delays) as opposed to the midnight arrival I was scheduled for.

On Saturday, Bryan and I had brunch with my old roommate Teri and her boyfriend Grant at Salty's on Alki. Let me tell you, Salty's really knows how to put on a brunch! The setup was huge with everything from eggs to crab legs to a chocolate fountain. We had a great table by the window, overlooking downtown Seattle, and a breakfast with a lot of laughs. (If Bryan ever asks you where anything is, just tell him "It's at the buffet" and watch him get annoyed!)

After brunch, Teri and I ditched the boys and headed north for a highly amusing game of "I'm going on a picnic," plenty of singing and a little shopping. She dropped me off in Kent, back at my parents' house that afternoon, and then Bryan and my parents and I were off to the Murder Mystery Dinner Train on the Spirit of Washington. This was Bryan's first time on the train, and my first time doing the murder mystery. Our mystery centered around pirate treasure, and Bryan was one of the prime suspects! Apparently he was involved in a paternity suit with a mermaid...so that's what he's been doing while he's been "out on patrol"! We had a very relaxing dinner on the way up to the Columbia Winery and then wandered through the wine tour where we found...a dead body! We got back on the train for coffee and dessert and to determine "Whodunit." Yours truly snagged the grand prize for her theory, and even got a t-shirt out of it! The whole experience was a lot of fun, and if you've never done it, I absolutely encourage you to go. We'd definitely do it again!

Sunday was the (re)wedding of our friends Adam and Sarah. They technically got married in a very small ceremony in San Diego back in March 2005, and this was their chance to celebrate with family and friends. The wedding was at the Liberty Theater in Puyallup, which was a pretty cool site for an event. Sunday night, we caught up with our friends Kevin and Paula, and then on Monday, Bryan was off to San Diego to get underway with the boat. Hopefully he should be back on Saturday, so he can pick Bailey up from dog daycare a few days early!

Tuesday I was up at the crack of 3:30 am to catch my 6 am flight to Minneapolis. I had hockey tickets for that night (which will be a separate blog entry), so I needed to get into town in plenty of time for that.

Yesterday, Wednesday, I spent with my sister-in-law, Crystal. Crystal is one of the coolest, nicest people I know, and we had a great time. I got to stop off and see her (and Bryan's) mom, Rosemary while she was on her route, and then we went to see Crystal's grandmother. Crystal and her fiance Brian will be moving into the upstairs apartment at her grandmother's house in May, so she brought me over to see what it was like and how much work they'd put into cleaning and getting it ready to move in! It was great to see Bryan's grandmother - she's an incredible woman - and Crystal's new place. We grabbed a little lunch and did a little shopping after that, and headed back to Rosemary's house to work on the wedding favors. Rosemary was home from work by then, so the three of us sat and filled favors and chatted. Wednesday evening I had dinner with my ReSound rep, Cathy. I talk to Cathy about once a week, so it was fun to finally be able to put a face with a name and a voice.

This morning the American Academy of Audiology convention (supposedly the reason I'm here) went into full swing, so I was at the convention center early to pick up my bag, badge and all that stuff, and into a class on newborn hearing screening that began at 8 am. I just got back from a trip to the airport to pick up a rental car that I'll need for the weekend's festivities. I asked for a compact and they gave me a PT Cruiser. Not exactly my ideal, as the thing is like a tank, and about as hard to park. So let's just say I'll be driving as little as humanly possible.

In a few minutes, I'm headed back to the convention center for the afternoon sessions and to make the rounds of the exhibit hall, which is always interesting. I haven't been to an AAA convention since just about the time Bryan and I started dating, about four years ago. Tonight's plans involve another Wild game, this time against the Oilers, so I'm praying for a good Boogaard-Laraque fight. Crystal's coming to this game with me, so we'll have a good time.

More updates later!
