England; Peter Gelstrap bound himself to John Taylor, emigration agent for Maryland,
Virginia, etc., to serve in Jamaica. This book notes that each slip wasn't
always labeled correctly, and that some people noted as bound to Jamaica went
to Maryland and vice versa.[3],[4]
Marriage circa __ ___ 1731 Rachel Aydelott (b. circa
1710, ); Somerset County, Maryland; Peter Gilstrap would have served
out his four year indenture by 1731. If he went to Jamaica, it seems unlikely
that he could have finished up service, bought passage to America, AND been
married in one year.[5]
