7 April 1749, Peter Gilstrap petitioned for 350 acres of land in Craven County, 
North Carolina. 


** NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 2, page 94. 6 Sept. 1760.  Francis 
McIlwean of Dobbs County for 16 pounds proclamation money conveys to John 
Gilstrap of Craven County a plantation on the south side of Neuse River and 
lower side of Moseley's Creek in a place called Trace Neck, the old place where 
Tracey formerly lived, 170 acres more or less. Witness: Samuel Box, Lemuel 
Harvey. Proved in open court and ordered to be recorded. Peter Conway, CC. 

NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 15, page 261. 15 June 1766. John Gilstrap 
of Craven County, Planter, for eighty pounds proclamation money, conveys to 
William Connerly of Craven County, a parcel of land on Moseley's Creek  
beginning at a white oak, ..., 178 acres patented by Francis Mackelwain 10 May 
1760, and from him transferred to John Gilstrap and from him to William 
Connerly. Witnesses: Ignatious Wadsworth and Frederick Becton. Proved
Sept. 1760, Inferior Court, Christopher Neale, CC. 

NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 12, page 218. 26 Aug, 1767. Samuel Box of 
Craven County for twenty-five pounds proclamation money, conveys to Peter 
Gilstrap land on south side of Southwest Creek, lying on Cabin Branch... 125 
acres. Witnesses: William Easterling, John Gilstrap. Proved October 1767, 
Inferior Court, Christopher Neale, CC. 

NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 72, page 87. 16 July, 1773. John Carlton 
of Craven County for 50 pounds proclamation money to Peter Gilstrap of Craven 
County, land on east side of Heath Swamp known by the name of the Islands, 100 
acres more or less. Witnesses: James Smith, Richard Smith. Proved September 
1774, Inferior Court,Christopher Neale, CC. 

NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 72, page 21. 23 July 1773. Thomas Prevatt 
of Craven County for 24 pounds proclamation money, a parcel of land on east side 
of Moseley's Creek part of a larger tract of land taken up by said Thomas 
Prevatt, ... to Loftin's line,... 420 acres. Witnesses: James Smith, Richard 
Carlton. Proved September 1774, Inferior Court, Chris Neale, CC. 

NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 17, page 227. 10 April 1769. Peter 
Gilstrap of Craven County for 20 pounds proclamation money, conveys to William 
Trewhitt of Craven County land on south side of Neuse River, east side 
ofMoseley's Creek, beginning at a white oak,... 1 acre more or less. Witnesses: 
John West, Levy Trewhitt. Proved at New Bern, 23 Feb. 1770 before Martin Howard, 
CC

NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 23, page 242. 9 February 1776. Idolet 
Gilstrap of Craven County for forty pounds, conveys to Thomas Fern of Craven 
County land on the south side of Neuse River, above Moseley's Creek, and on the 
SE Side of Pudding Branch, 132 acres more or less, tract granted to Nathan 
Chance for aforesaid 5 May 1769. Witnesses: Peter Hargett, Martha Nox. Proved 
Craven County Court, 1778 (Dec.) Christopher Neale, CC.

NORTH CAROLINA CRAVEN COUNTY DEED BOOK 23, page 239. 2 November 1778. Peter 
Gilstrap of Duplin County for 85 pounds conveys to Ninion Wyse of Craven County 
land beginning at a red oak...thence along Joab Carmack's line to Richard 
Blackledge's corner, thence to a wateroak...125 acres, part of a larger tract 
granted to Levi Trewhitte, deceased. Witnesses: Richard Carlton, Sarah Davis. 
Proved December Court, 1778.
