Variable Kingsnake

(Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri)

I've heard many people say that breeding Variable  kingsnakes is like opening gifts on Christmas morning....You never know what  you're going to get. A single clutch of eggs can result in grey bands, milk snake phase, leonis phase and even completely melanistic jet black snakes. Variable kings stay relatively small, are generally very tame and make excellent  captives. Working with these snakes has been very rewarding for me. In my opinion, they are one of the most fun colubrids to breed and  keep.
