Brethren, on behalf of Emaleigh Grace Devaney and our family, we would like
to publicly express the goodness that the Lord has bestowed upon us.
When Emaleigh was first diagnosed with her illness, shock and a sense of
emptiness immediately engulfed our very existence. However, thru our prayers and those of our family, friends, and church,
God has blessed us many fold.
As a testament of God’s response to the innumerable prayers reaching
heaven on Emaleigh’s behalf, He healed her left kidney making it possible for a complete recovery. He guided the hands
of the doctors and nurses thru two successful surgeries, He shrank the tumor on the right kidney by 40% and He continues to
bless her with minimal sickness during her radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
This tragedy has allowed us to experience the love and peace of God more
intimately than we could ever have imagined. We have truly seen our Savior’s miraculous goodness and grace and bear
witness to God’s faithfulness to keep His promise to never leave us nor forsake us.
Each day God’s closeness provides us with an inner strength and hope,
that serves as our anchor. This anchor is the only reason for us making it thru to where we are today. God stood by us every
minute of the day by wrapping His comforting love around us and giving us the peace that passes all understanding that only
He can provide.
To watch the amazing spiritual works of God, not only in the healing process,
but also in the daily kindness of everyone from family to perfect strangers is such a blessing to experience. These words
are not near enough to express our thankfulness to God for His mercy toward us. We humbly stand today to give all credit and
thanks to our Lord and Savior for all that He has done for us during this time of trouble.
This situation has been revealed to us in a series of stages. Each time we
seemed to make it over one hurdle the news of another hurdle was waiting for us. Beginning with the diagnosis of the tumor,
then the biopsy of the two spots on the left kidney, then the chemotherapy treatments, then the second surgery, and finally
the follow up treatments.
There have been many times of uncertainty for us during the past few months
and as such we have had strong days and weak days, but God was always there to ease the pain in our hearts and to remind us
that He was in control of our lives and this situation.
The support that each of you have given to us by praying, visiting, or by
whatever means you have helped us will never be forgotten. The act of love and kindness that has been poured out toward us
has been utterly amazing and is appreciated beyond any measure that we could ever tell.
Emaleigh’s prognosis now is good; she only has left to complete her
regiment of treatments thru the middle of January. After her treatments are done we will be in a "watching and waiting" mode
for possibly up to five years.
However, as we are on the threshold of this unknown waiting period we are
confident that God will continue to bless us and that He will keep a hedge of protection around Emaleigh. Just as He reached
down His healing hand and touched her body, so we have perfect faith that He will keep her safe.
Finally, let me reiterate again, that the Lord did it all, and deserves all
praise and glory!
We also want to thank each of you again for all that you have done for us.
