Player's Information

Thank you for your interest in the long-awaited (at least by us) installment of the Sandman series of live role-playing games.

The game is scheduled for Saturday evening, 5:30PM to midnight March 12, 2005  at the John Raitt Theater in Hollywood. (6520 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, California 90028)

We're also planning a $5 to $10 fee to cover the costs of running the game.  The actual amount will depend on the cost of the space we end up using.

This game is by INVITATION ONLY due to time and size requirements.  Feel free to suggest people for us to invite, but know that extra invitees will only occur if other people can't make the game or opt not to play.  We need to keep tight control over the casting of this game for manageability issues.  As people agree to play in the game, we'll list them on the cast page of this website.

Generally, players will be invited to play specific characters.  Characters will come from the Sandman comics and previous Sandman games.  Please see the 'Story So far' page of this website for information.  If you have an idea for an original character, feel free to run it past us, although the setting of the game (a funeral) means that any new characters will need to have very concrete and obvious connections with the Endless.

Some players will be playing 'CAST'.  This means that you won't have just one character to play through the game, but several as game's needs require it.  While you won't have a full goals and background info like a player-character would, this function can be just as fun and satisfying from a role-playing POV.

As part of the game, there will be short plays presented that describe the death of each of the Endless.  Once the plays are written, some characters will be needed to act their part of the script.  You'll get the scripts for the plays you're cast in at least a month before the game date. You'll be able to perform the play with scrip in-hand, so there's no need to worry about memorizing your lines. But if you want to, great!  Ultimately, no player will be expected to take part in more than three of the plays.

If you have an idea for one of these plays, feel free to pitch it past the GMs.  We've invited some of the players to write plays, but there may be space for one or two others, depending on time.  See the writer's info page for more details.

Each play will very likely have at least one rehearsal in the weeks leading up to the game date. We'll do our best to work around everyone's busy schedules for these rehearsals.

If you commit to the game and later find you won't be able to make the game-date, please contact the GM's ASAP!  We're planning a tightly written game, therefore absent players will be sorely missed (and strongly cursed by the GM's)!
