What is the Form I-90?
I-90 is the INS application for eligible permanent residents and conditional residents to apply for replacement of their permanent resident cards. (INS form I-551, commonly referred to as "Green Card").

An I-90 application can be filed by permanent residents to replace lost, stolen, destroyed, mutilated or older or incorrect (due to INS error) versions of their card. A replacement may also become necessary when their current card is expiring or there is a change in the resident's status that is directly linked to his/her residency, for example a change of name or other biographic information, a change from or to commuter status, etc. To replace a card that has an expiration date on it and is expiring. Green Card holders can apply upto six months prior to the expiration date of the card.

Conditional residents can use the I-90 application to replace lost, stolen, destroyed, mutilated or incorrect (due to INS error) versions of their card. They can also use the I-90 to apply for a new card to include changes in their name or other biographic information. However, if you are a conditional resident and your status is expiring, you should use form I-751 to apply for the removal of conditions.

Who can qualify for the K-visa and what is the process of obtaining one?
US citizens may apply for the K visa to bring their spouse or fiancé(e) into the United State. The K visa is issued to two types of people:

1. The non-citizen fiancé(e) of a US citizen can be issued a K-1 visa. If the fiancé(e) has any minor children who will accompany him/her to the US, then each child can be issued a K-2 visa. The K-1 visa allows a foreign national who resided outside the US to travel into the US for the purpose of marring a US citizen.

2. The non-citizen spouse of a US citizen can be issued a K-3 visa. If the spouse has any minor children who will accompany him/her to the US, then each child can be issued a K-4 visa. The K-3 visa allows a family to resides together in the US during the lengthy family-based immigration (Green Card) process.

Obtaining the K visa is a 2 step process:

Step 1: The U.S. citizen will need to submit the K visa petition (form I-129F) on behalf of the fiancé or spouse to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization service (INS). The INS Experts can help U.S. citizens prepare their I-129F petition, online.

Step 2: Once the I-129F petition is approved by the INS, the spouse or fiancé(e) must apply for a K-visa at an consulate outside the U.S
