Our mission is to prove and disprove hauntings in the local areas of specifically Northern Illinois and Southern
Wisconsin, though our investigations are certainly not limited to only these areas. If you would like to be an investigator
for W-I-P-S there are many ways in which you can help us! We need as much assistance as possible behind the scenes as
well as in the field! Researchers and Interviewers, Equipment Handlers and Techinicians, Evidence Investigation and
so forth. If you are not interested in becoming a paid investigative memeber, you are more than welcome to join us at
our monthly meetings for discussion of evidence and sharing stories about hauntings.
No prior experience is required. We will expect paid investigative members to learn the uses of the equipment
and how to handle it on an investigation. As a paid investigative member, you will be invited to monthly meetings, upcoming
private investigations, receive newsletters on the team's success and growth and much more!
We have an open member forum chatroom and message board for easy access to other members in our community,
and we encourage open and frequent discussions here outside of the monthly meetings and other investigations.
January through March is our annual renewal for paid investigavtive members, you must attend one of these monthly
meetings to be considered and must be 18 years of age or older. This will be the only time we will accept
new members as membership is limited. We will be charging an annual fee for members. This will
allow us to know who is serious about our team, and who is just interested in keeping up with what we are doing. All
membership charges go toward funding the equipment and upkeep of our group - there is no profit from these fees. We
want a core group of enthusiasts that will carry through with us through W-I-P-S' existance.
Investigator Membership: $40/first year - $25/each year after
New investigator membership will include:
- "The Ghost Hunter's Guidebook" by Troy Taylor (for those who own this book - you will be able to
choose from a list of W-I-P-S approved books for one of your choice.)
- A special bonus gift.
- As well as all the items in the returning members list.
Returning members:
- W-I-P-S name tag for use on investigations
- Business cards for personal use with W-I-P-S logo and your name (more upon renewal each year).
- Discounts on American Ghost Hunter Society books
- Only paid members are able to participate on our private investigations.
- Members Only newsletters and e-mails, as well as general newsletters pertaining to the group.
- Access to W-I-P-S message board
Hobbyist Membership: FREE
Your membership will include:
- Admittance to our monthly open meetings, to exchange any personal evidence or to consult with our members.
- Newsletter e-mails to keep you on top of W-I-P-S happenings.
- Invitation to any open to the public investigations we might have for a charge.
- Access to W-I-P-S message board
