Packaging is getting smaller while prices are going up. I am seeing it every month. A large size available then for at least a month it is "out of stock" then it reappears in a new smaller weight and higher price, but since the container is shaped different one thinks it is the same. It would not be if they were pulling metric on us but it is not in even metric weights either. So Now not only are the amounts decreasing but the prices are increasing. If you think your food money is not going as far of if you are eating more the answer is yes and no. Things are more expensive and the sizes have decreased-many bu 30%.

Sewing and mending

I resuscitated four pairs of slacks. Patched, mended, and shortened them to a newer, more sensible length. It is a good thing I am short and they make slacks too long for most women- that way I have fabric to patch. Most of my pants are 10+ years old. But buy quality and they last & then patching them they are fine for home and to walmart and the other places I go- like I need to dress to shop! There is no where I need to go anymore.

I found a little purse size book by Dell from 1972 about sewing with out a pattern. All the styles are still fashionable so they must be classics! I have tons of fabric and I will try some out during my vacation in New Brunswick.
