A REAL SOLUTION FOR NOW
Our Children do not need computers, powerpoint, or any other technology in the classroom.
What the Children need K through 12th grade are the foundations for life long learning. They need arithmetic and higher mathematics,
they need science taught with labs, they need to learn how to read and understand what they read, they need to learn and practice
how to think and express themselves in writing (with pencils and pens and paper) using more than a vocabulary of 100 words.
They need to learn self control, self discipline, and the idea of self sacrifice for the whole. They need to evolve to critical
thinkers and not be a mindless game player and then a mindless follower. They need their time spent in pursuit of civic responsibility
and not into cyber bullying and cyber sexting.
Our Children are too privileged with an overload of cheap consumer goods, cheap junk food, cheap junk thoughts and cheap
entertainment.
All the computers and kindles will not help this nation stop its downward slide. Fewer and fewer people are life long learners.
The reduction of newspapers in this country is a good example. We are a nation of sheep and we are being fleeced by the Republicans,
Democrats, Tea Party types and all of those who have their head in the distant past of former glory or tucked in the sand.
The sky is falling and no one will even look up.
