Quiet Sunday

These are pictures taken of a quiet Sunday family get-together at our house in 1998.  While the girls talked about whatever they talk about, my son and I talked computers and the new digital camera.

Suddenly the burglar alarm went off.   When I ran to the front of the house to see what set it off, there was my grandson playing with the remote panic alarm button.  I reset the alarm and my son went back to working on the computer and I continued to experiment taking pictures with the new camera.  A few minutes later we heard a helicopter circling low overhead.  My daughter-in-law and granddaughter came in from the backyard and said they had waved to the funny bird in the sky.

Just a few minutes later, when I answered a knock at the front door, there stood two very serious local sheriffs.   They asked a bunch of questions and I answered, apparently to their satisfaction, and they left.  One of them handed me a flyer inviting us to an open house at the substation next weekend.  Of course I said we would be attend.

Our dog Boots before all the commotion.   We didn't see much of him afterwards.
