Prince Concerts That Exist in Some Form on Tape

These are concerts from Prince that were played on the second leg of the Jam of the Year tour 1998 until 1999. For more information, contact me via my e-mail address.

"Jam of the Year" Tour 1998-1999

Though this really wasn't its own tour, Prince ended the "Jam of the Year" tour in Europe and several sporadic dates in the United States, playing one-off shows leading to the release of the New Power Soul cd and a European tour. He also added former Sly and the Family Stone bassist Larry Graham to the band, which made many of these shows the Sly and the Family Stone tribute tour. On almost every show, Prince and company played Everyday People, Thank You Falletinme Be Miceelf Again, the Jam, etc.

The following songs were played at many of these shows, while many of the Prince "hits" listed actually were little more than a verse of the song, to get you to "feel" the song before cutting it off and moving on to the next one.

Days of Wild intro/Thank You Falletinme Be Miceelf Again (w/ Larry Graham), Everyday People (w/ Larry Graham), Free (w/ Larry Graham), I Wanna Take You Higher (w/ Larry Graham), Push it Up, Jam of the Year, Talking Loud and Saying Nothing (James Brown cover tune), Let's Work, Purple Rain, Purple Rain, Delirious, Little Red Corvette, I Would Die 4 U, I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man, The Ride, The Christ (new version of The Cross), The One, I Like Funky Music, If I Was Your Girlfriend, Piano Medley: Diamonds and Pearls, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, The Beautiful Ones, Darling Nikki; Nothing Compares 2 U, Take Me With U/Raspberry Beret Medley, Come On, Medley: Let's Go Crazy/She's Always In My Hair/U Got the Look, Baby I'm a Star/1999, Release Yourself

More than any other tour I can remember, the order of the setlists to this tour were different nearly every night, though blocks of the show stayed consistent throughout. Following is a list of tapes that are circulating of these shows.
