These are concerts from Prince that are circulating amongst collectors that were
played on the Jam of the Year tour 1996-1998. For more information, contact me

This
is the U.S. leg of the tour that was done under Prince's "Symbol"
name. During this tour, there were a few warm-up gigs played at Paisley Park in
1996, then the tour kicked off in early 1997 and extended through January 1998.
In July 1997, the setlist changed and the songs he performed got shorter and
shorter, as the tour became a "Greatest Hits" medley tour. By the end
of this tour, he was playing little more than one verse from most of the songs
he played on it. On the aftershows from this tour, many of the songs played
were covers of other classic soul/r&b tracks from the 1970s, and Doug E.
Fresh and Larry Graham began to guest on stage more and more as the tour
progressed.
The general setlist for the early shows on this tour is as follows: DAT Intro
(medley of Prince hits), Jam of the Year, Talking Loud and Saying Nothing
(James Brown cover tune), Purple Rain, 17 Days, Get Yo' Groove on/6, The Most
Beautiful Girl in the World, Face Down, The Cross, One of Us, Do Me Baby Medley
(includes How Come u Don't Call Me Anymore, Adore, Scandalous, Insatiable),
Sexy MF, If I Was Your Girlfriend, The Ride, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?,
Take Me With U/Raspberry Beret Medley, Mr. Happy/18 and Over (first verse
only), Sleep Around/Take the A-Train, I Feel Alright chant, Johnny
Later in the tour, the setlist evolved into the following : DAT Intro (medley
