Hans Ottsen studied classical piano from the age of three and was performing in local piano competitions by the age of eight. After making the switch from piano to guitar at the age of 14, Hans attended the USC School of Music from 1994-1997, then Manhattan School of Music from 1998-2000. At USC, Hans was the youngest student the university's history to be accepted as a private student of jazz guitar legend Joe Diorio. Hans has taught guitar, piano, music theory and jazz improvisation since 1993.
