The most 'childlike' child of the Raccoon Family is the one that has the most plain and straighforward personality. He's a kid, and he can move fast. VERY, VERY fast. This is the basis for the way Active Raccoon behaves, and he is quite happy about it.
He's a kid that can move fast. It may seem strange to repeat this, but it actually does represent Active rather well. He's everything that a child of his age would be: curious and impetuous at times, quiet and shy at others, playing the clown with obvious delight but capable of stone-cold seriousness when matters are grave. He loves to play, studies hard the subjects in school he likes and grudgingly the ones he cares little about... and thinks his Mom and Dad are the greatest, even though they have to reign him in at times. And... he moves fast. Even when he was very little, he was capable of moving at an above-average rate, and during an incident which involved an amiable Afghan Hound named Arved, a mission to eat all the chocolate in the world, and a bunch of other wacky things, he began to manifest even higher speeds. Nowadays he is capable of moving at practically a blur. He rarely "shows off" this ability, but has been known to do so. He has made a lifelong friend in a ringtail by the name of Kendall, who though several years his senior shares most of Active's likes and dislikes.
Well, once again it's going to sound repetetive, but... he's a kid that can move fast. To him, it seems not as though he is moving at an advanced speed, but that the rest of the world has slowed to a crawl. On natural surfaces he can reach his top running speed (or in most cases his practical running speed, since to go faster would ruin his clothing). On asphalt surfaces he has to go slower, since he rarely wears shoes and the friction hurts his feet. When he's "in Fast Forward", as he calls his hyper-speed mode, he feels a quiet, subtle calm which he describes as "like being in the eye of a hurricane I made myself". :)
Special note:
An advance apology is in order to all who read this information, for there is at the moment a story being developed by me that will go much deeper into the origins and history of the Raccoon Family than that which has been so far revealed. The personality profiles that you will find here at the present time are therefore (though accurate and true as far as what is presented) slightly incomplete. This is done not to mislead the reader, but to maintain a measure of suspense for the stories to come. Your patience and understanding are appreciated. <:)
