Mare Owner agrees to breed the mare: ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ to the stallion: ______________________________________________________________________________ standing at GDA during the 2009 season. Breeding season runs from January 15 through April 30. 2. Mare owner agrees to pay a stallion service fee of ___________, and booking fee of $250. 3. Mare Owner will send a complete copy of the mares papers. 4. Mare owner is responsible for all care, vet and farrier bills. 5. Mare must be in healthy sound breeding condition. If found unfit for breeding, GDA shall make reasonable efforts to treat the mare at mare owners expense. GDA may reject any mare at any time for any reason. If the mare is unable to be bred, mare owner may substitute a mare with GDA’s approval, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. 6.. Mare owner must administer Rhino vaccines at 5, 7 and 9 months of pregnancy. Failure to do so will nullify the live foal guarantee. 7. GDA will make a diligent effort to settle every mare. In the event of injury, illness or death, GDA will not be held liable. 8. The mare must be examined by a licensed veterinarian between 18 and 30 days to determine pregnancy status at the mare owners expense, and GDA notified of her status within 10 days of the examination. 9. Should the stallions die, or otherwise become unfit for breeding, GDA may transfer this contract to another GDA stallion. Should the mare die or become unfit for breeding, this contract is null and void unless written approval by GDA is issued granting a substitute mare. 10. Mare Owner agrees to pay all expenses monthly. GDA is granted and guaranteed a security interest in the mare and resulting foal against any debt incurred at GDA by the mare owner. 11. This contract is not transferable in whole or part without written consent of GDA. 12. GDA will issue a Breeders Certificate when notified of the birth of the foal provided there is no outstanding debt to GDA. In the event of debt, the Breeders Certificate will be issued when the debt is satisfied. 13. If a mare fails to breed, or fails to produce a colored foal, the right to rebreed may be exercised the following year only. If a mare is returned to GDA under rebreed or color guarantee returns, a $250 booking fee must be paid to exercise the rebreed contract option. 14. Shipped semen is $250 per shipment which includes semen dose(s), disposable container and shipping. 15. Prior to shipping semen GDA requires payment be complete, a copy of the mares papers,24 hours notice and a valid couriers address. 16. GDA guarantees a live foal from this breeding. If the mare is found to be open, and all the prerequisites are met, GDA will extend the contract for the follow year only when the booking fees are paid. This guarantee is null and void if GDA is not notified within 10 days of finding the mare to be open, or demise of the foal, and must be accompanied by a statement from a licensed veterinarian. All semen shipping fees, booking fees, vet and other related expenses are associated with this rebreed guarantee. 17. GDA required 24 hour notice prior to SHIPPING semen to allow for veterinarian and courier preparation. Please remember these stallions are subject to a heavy show schedule, and may be competing and therefore unavailable for breeding occasionally. Please keep GDA informed of your mares reproductive status so alternative arrangements can be made. 18. If frozen semen is used, it will be made available at the veterinarians office for insemination on site, or Mare Owner may arrange transport at Mare Owners cost. Availability of frozen semen doses may be limited by quantity at any given time. In the event that inseminations using the standard 3 doses (1 dose is described as 800 million total sperm) of frozen semen from the Stallion do not result in a live foal as certified by a licensed veterinarian, GDA will provide an additional 3 doses of frozen semen from the Stallion for inseminations in the current breeding season where above costs must be paid by Mare Owner.
