Greensboro Weavers Guild

Greensboro, North Carolina, U.S.A.

The Greensboro Weavers Guild is comprised of weavers of all ages and skill levels, from some who hardly have time for weaving but would like to some day, to serious fiber artists. We welcome anyone interested in weaving and other related fiber arts to join us at our meetings. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held in the Orientation Room on the second floor of the Cultural Arts Center, 200 N. Davie St., Greensboro, North Carolina on the first Wednesday of each month, September through April, at 7 p.m.

The guild has an e-mail newsletter. You can join the list by e-mailing Sandra Duvall at sandyd33@earthlink.net. The most recent newsletter is below.

Although our guild's focus is on hand weaving, our members have a diverse range of interests in fibers. Many are spinners and knitters as well. We also include basketry, beading, crocheting, dyeing, felting, kumihimo, quilting, and tatting among our interests, and our programs reflect that diversity. We all like to learn from each other, no matter what our skill or skill level is. We often have meetings for just show and tell, so we can share and brainstorm and get advice and feedback from fellow weavers. And we have a lot of fun!

IF the Greensboro Schools are CLOSED due to bad weather, we will NOT HAVE OUR MEETING until the next month.

NEXT MEETING: April 20, 2008

"Dye-In Day " April 20 at Katrina Weirick's house at 1:O0 PM. We are going to do "space dyed "warps" and wools.
