When Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida contacted
me about putting together a kite display for their library art gallery, it took about two seconds to get an enthusiastic
"you bet!" It did occur to me a few days later that I would actually have to make it happen. But with kites that number
somewhere over 150 scattered around the house I quickly realized there was nothing to worry about.
I decided to focus on contemporary western kites since they are
the bulk of my collection. The small size of the room also put some limitations on what could be displayed.
I would like to extend a special thanks to Elsa Villa, the Student
Government Association, and the rest of the faculty and students at Hillsborough Community College for allowing this
show to take place.
