Current Objective

The survey profession has very few available people with such broad experience – and, often, people with such abilities have served with a firm for many years – and are not available in the job market.

In my 35 years of experience, I have spent 30 plus in charge or responsible for work effort. I have done so profitably, efficiently and professionally. To enumerate what I feel are some of my best traits, let me provide the following:

I am extremely proficient in retracement (sectional; metes & bounds; old document interpretation; acquisition & interpretation of field evidence) and am excellent at evaluation of field data verses record data, pro-ration and proportional distribution. I have developed efficiency in subdivision design both in maximum yield and design to topography.

I have managed to increase field productivity by educating field personnel in a broader understanding of surveying principles and theories; utilization of equipment, and by maintaining a congenial and friendly atmosphere (which results in a greater level of teamwork and productivity).

My office skills include a very thorough understanding of Coordinate Geometry, allowing for: a proper and complete evaluation of survey evidence, which, when coupled with my understanding of legal aspects of survey, generally results in a defensible survey; calculation of maximum lot yield, whether predicated on maximizing available area or conforming to topographic conditions; and, competent evaluation of network or vertical data so as to provide accurate base maps or topographic surveys.

My managerial experiences have provided me an insight into scheduling to maximize productivity and balance this with meeting other criteria such as cash-flow and client accommodation.

I am seeking a position which takes advantage of my experience and provides me an opportunity to pass on to younger surveyors the benefit of my experience. My background includes developing a client base for both myself, in Florida and with Calvada Surveying, in California; representing clients for zoning changes, variance, subdivision and site approvals and any other matter which warranted my involvement. It also includes a complete “hands-on” approach to dealing with field crews, projects and all aspects of production of the finished survey product. The preferred position would include field work along with some office duties.

I am willing to relocate. I also have a Topcon Hiper GPS system, available for rent, lease or purchase.
