passionbutter.jpg

Come enjoy a night or two in a home of more simple days and less hurried times on one of our four porches on the gardens edge.

A gift shop, bakery, tea room, and plant nursery are all on site for your enjoyment and shopping and dining pleasure.

The wonderfully open home, with its love of outdoor light has been thoroughly modernized, yet retains its history through samplings of original wallpaper, wooden walls, wooden ceilings, and beautiful hardwood floors.

Enjoy strolling through our botanical gardens including Texas native plants, water gardens, herb gardens, butterfly and hummingbird gardens. Just sit back in one of our gazebos and enjoy the butterflies and birds. Take a stroll over our water pond bridge and enjoy the koi fish and beautiful water plants.

Mid-summer at Gardens Edge
This charming country home was completed in 1942 by one of the original founding families of Edgewood, Texas. All of the wood used to build this home came from the 1904 Railroad Hotel in Edgewood. The hotel was originally located on the south side of the Texas & Pacific Railroad in downtown Edgewood. The interior doors, walls, ceilings and floors have all been lovingly restored to their original beauty by your hosts. The original bell of the hotel still announces the arrival of the homes guests. Texas artisans wares will soon be displayed in the 100 year old "sharecropper" home next door that is under current restoration.
