Any art piece requires infastructure and control, even a painting is framed with a distinct border. Gardens
are not different, only larger and more dimentional. The Stone Bridge is a dramatic introduction to a larger area where
you will find the little pool, my shop, the greenhouse and my garden. As you leave the bridge your first site is to
the greenhouse. Totally functional, pretty in its own right with its stone veener, placed in full sunlight, it is also
a garden boundry and effectivly blocks the view into my neighbor's yard.

| Slate adds color and texture as a garden element |
This bridge is the strongest thing I have ever built! It has huge concrete abatements on either side, arched
channel steel, 4 inches of re-enforced concrete and then the slate. Surrounded by greenery and a flowering plum tree,
it is an encouraging entry to my garden.

Click on photo to take you to another site! Obviously, I like slate and use it everywhere appropriate!
It is colorful and time-tested with the elements. On the greenhouse it absorbs the heat of the day and releases it at
night. The easiest way to recycle energy. I have slate on my bridge, greenhouse, a water feature, around the little
pool and occasionally as stepping stones. This side faces south and is my neighbor's view!
