This is the highest award
presented
by the SCFMS. A Spark Plug is a person who leads, inspires or animates
a group. This award is presented only when there is a deserving
recipient,
therefore it may be awarded to more than one person at a time. Some
years
there may not be an award presented. This award was first presented to
"Mr. Rockhound", Ed Immel. The following is a list of those to whom it
has been awarded.
GOLDEN SPARK PLUG AWARD Bill Jennings, Chairman 1991 Ed Immel, Mr. Rockhound 1992 Mignon Wagner, Officer of several clubs, Newsletter editor etc. 1993 Bill Cox, President of SCFMS & AFMS. 1994 Ed Ries, President of SCFMS & AFMS and local organization and almost single handed raised the $60,000 in the Endowment Fund. 1994 Simone Woods, Editor of the Rollin' Rock Club Newsletter. 1996 Gala Ries, for 14 plus years of work on the SCFMS Newsletter. 1998 Jean Wallace, outstanding service as Editor of her club newsletter and her service as Bulletin Aides Chairperson serving all clubs in the Federation. 1998 Emmette Wallace, served in many local projects, attended and represented the SCFMS at numerous International Shows for many, many years. 1998 Bill Jennings, running the Golden Spark Plug Award committee and his many years of outstanding service. 2000 George Browne, outstanding service to the Federation. He has made a success of the Federation Insurance Program. 2001 William and Lois Pattillo - have
promoted
our hobby and the Federation by exhibiting their "Food Table" at shows
all over the country and by appearing on T.V. and being featured in
many
newspaper and magazine articles. They have served as officers of their
home club and the Federation. 2003 Paul Good - Presented to
outstanding service to the Federation as editor of the SCFMS Newsletter
and Federation Directory. Paul has kept the clubs and the
membership up to date on all the Federation activities. His award
winning Newsletter has been a major key to the successful growth of the
Federation.
