Find religion in Pattaya

With the recent appearance (again) of some Evangelical Christians on Walking Street 'sharing the gospel', is their a place for religion in Pattaya?

'Sin City', 'Sodom and Gommorah by the sea', 'Heaven and Hell' are among the many descriptions of Pattaya.

Interesting, isn't it, that they're ALL biblical references?

Further note how the four major religions (Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam) are ALL fully represented on the eastern seaboard with several churches, mosques, and temples.

And even for aetheists, attending religious services in Pattaya offer something.

Here's a few thoughts:

1) No man's an island, so attending a church, temple, etc., Can be an excellent way of meeting other farangs.

Maybe a different crowd from 'beer stool warming' crowd at your local beer bar.

2) Helping others, FAR less fortunate then yourself, provides 'meaning' to many people.

Learning about organizations like Father Ray's Orphanage in Pattaya, for example, is a way the church can connect you to those in legitimately in need.

3) Living a life of integrity and thougtfullness is taught by the four major religions but doing so daily is difficult.

For some, the church can act as a 'coach'--and sounding board.

And as evidenced by the HIGH percentage of farang suicides in Pattaya, they are missing 'something' in their lives.

Conclusion:

Although Pattaya's stereotyped as a 'den of hedonism', religion flourishes here.

Maybe you consider attending services and discover why.
