![]() HOW TO APPLYTo complete the application process for Daily Life in Ancient Times please apply on-line if possible. The Cover Sheet MUST be sent on-line, but three collated copies of the Cover Sheet, resume, and application essay can be sent in hard copy to Professor R. Root (address below). Please follow these steps:1. Complete the standard NEH Participant Application Cover Sheet, which mustbe filled out on-line at address: http://www.neh.gov/online/education/participants Please fill it out as prompted by the directions and when finished, PLEASE CLICK THE "SUBMIT" BUTTON. Print out the cover sheet and add it to your application package if you prefer to submit hard copies. Send three copies of the signed Cover Sheet along with three copies of all parts of the application. 2. Write an application essay detailing why you would like to participate. The essay should be no more than four pages, double-spaced. It should note your reasons for applying, your interests (academic and personal) in ancient history; related qualifications and experiences; and how the institute content would benefit you, your students, and your district. Include a brief description of a successful lesson from your classroom, and one that was a failure. Explain experiences presenting workshops to teachers and willingness to participate in state and national conferences to disseminate information gained in the institute. Note applicable extra-curricular activities. 3. Compile and send a detailed resume of your educational and professional experiences. 4.
