Pixie the Boat - Miscellaneous

Neither Here Nor There
So it seems a lot of this boat stuff has a foundation in just
messing about in the garage, a sport of which I'm probably one of the
biggest fans. Here we are in our SoFla pup tent dreaming of a land
without concrete. As I noted in the Recidivist section, us
Minskie's realize nature is important. I don't ride the religious
rails in Bruce Cockburn's "All
The Diamonds In This World," but I appreciate beauty when I hear it.
Besides the entirely enjoyable garage messing, some things just happen
along the way. Here are a few of them.
People
The abridged version of my concentric circles for fellow
travelers goes something like this: Jenny & me, close
friends, acquaintances, general public, and those-to-be-avoided.
Boatyards seem to filter out the general public ring. I suppose
they're off doing other things. I've got more to say, but don't
quite know if I'll say it here yet. Read the next section.
Why are you looking at this, anyway?
SailBoats
Boats fascinate me, but specifically sailboats.
I'm sure there's some deeply seated psychological imbalance that causes
such, and if you're a Freudian psychologist the stretch to the mother's
womb is not just literal. Boats have given me joy and trouble
most of my adult life. After having had many years to think about
this affliction, I've come to accept that I'll never be cured.
Thinking carefully and observing what makes me happy, I've decided that
boats fascinate me so because they offer in some sense adventure, hope,
risk, freedom, education, companionship through the similarly afflicted
(joy loves company), purpose, and direction. It's also a
beautiful thing to apply my knowledge and minor energies to be able to
synchronize myself and my machinations with the elements in order to
pursue my preferred course. OK, obviously time for me to get a
beer. Entertain yourself with these pictures until I get back:

My trusty steed, storage shed, hard-walled tent, trailer puller,

me early in its life!
