Arrived at Inks Lake State Park and backed her in

We got last minute reservations for a couple of days stay at Inks Lake over Spring Break due to cancellations because of the burn ban that prohibited camp fires and charcoal fires.  Nice park and nice weather.  Busy and a bit noisy during the day but right at 10pm it was nice an quiet for the night.  Still quiet in the morning til about 10 am.  We will come again and bring our kayaks next time as there are waterside campsites available.

I bought a Sportz tent made for SUVs

Using her sewing skills, my wife modified the connecting sleeve on the Sportz tent so that it would fit the back of the camper.  She sewed in a long bungi shock cord that made for a nice snug fit.  The lip I built onto the back of the camper keeps the sleeve from sliding off the camper when the wind blows.  It works just fine and made for a nice little living room area where we lounge around and watch TV or cook up some grub.

The little aluminum fold out table from Walmart worked just fine in the corner where it held the toaster oven when cooking or later the TV/DVD player.  Most cooking was done in the microwave that is just inside the door of the camper.  We bring along a lot of precooked foods in baggies.  We like the AC/DC cooler.  Seems to keep stuff cold enough and easily plugs into one of the exterior 15 amp receptacles.  I usually run a gangbox off the other receptacle to run the lamp in the tent, toaster oven, radio, and other stuff as needed.

The AC unit works just fine.  A little noisy but I have heard louder in some hotel rooms I paid a lot for.  The gray water from the sink is collected in the 5 gallon red container that I dump when needed.

I also got a 10' x 10' EZup to give a little more shade and rain protection.  It was fairly easy to put up with my wife helping but I can see it will take a little practice to do it by myself.  I got 4 walls to go with it.  We only used two for some shade and a wind break.  They were very easy to install and take down.  Definitely worth having.  The whole set up made for a cozy and comfortable camping experience.

My eleven year old daughter, Kellie, got a new digital camera.  She took these shots and many of the others.  Not bad shootin' for a kid!
