Review: Lisa Rivers is a licensed psychologist at
Reach for Resources. She understands Aspergers and has been
a wonderful counsellor for me. She's friendly and unassuming.
It's in the Eisenhower Community Center. The people there
are all really nice.
I think Reach for Resources is for adults with developmental
disabilities which includes autism. I wish I had their newsletter
handy so I could give more info on the agency itself.

I made a childhood decision at the age of 13 to become a
psychotherapist and, after more than 30 years of experience
as a therapist, I continue to love my work with individuals,
couples and families. I have been a Licensed Psychologist
at the Master's level since 1979 and have completed my doctoral
degree in clinical psychology in August 2003. My dissertation
was entitled "The Development of the Adult Asperger Syndrome
Scale." For over ten years, I have had a special interest
in adults with Asperger Syndrome and work with those at least
14 years of age and their families, providing diagnosis and
treatment. I see myself as a warm, caring, committed and perceptive
psychotherapist, who understands that the delicate balance
of being supported and challenged in therapy is highly unique
to each person.
Review: My wife (Kay) was diagnosed my Dr. Foster.
She said he was very thorough in the testing. I went
over with kay what was done and I believe her.
The one caveat we have is, Dr. Foster just didn't seem to
understand her problems at work nor could he seem to suggest
any accommodations for her.
We both have agreed (that in our opinion) if you want to
be tested for Asperger's Syndrome Dr. Foster will do a really
great job but his therapy skills need a lot of work.
We do know some one who I believe is seeing Dr. Foster for
therapy and we will try to get her to right a paragraph about
her experience.

Dr. Jenkins graduated from St. Olaf College and then the
University of Chicago-Pritaker School of Medicine. Dr. Jenkins
completed seven years of residency training at the University
of Chicago and the Mayo Clinic in pediatrics, psychiatry,
child psychiatry, and psychopharmacology. She co-authored
The Biology of Star Trek (Harper Collins, 1998) and A Pocket
Reference for Psychiatrists (American Psychiatric Press, 1990,
1994). She has a specialty interest in ADHD and other Neurodevelopmental
disorders.
Review: Dr. Jenkins was the doctor that gave me my
diagnosis. I will admit she was the third doctor I had gone
to for this, but to her my Asperger's Syndrome was obvious.
I have to say that after several years of knowing the symptoms
and being around Aspies; I can recognize them on sight. I
am not sure how, but I haven't been wrong yet.
Unfortunately she is no longer working with adults only children
and is only listed here as a favor to a goodly number of parents
we get Email from looking for someone to diagnose there child
they think has Asperger's or is on the spectrum.
