FS5 FEEDBACK NOTE NUMBER TWO

This is intended to be a continuing follow-on series of notes that I
will post on various BBSs to share FS5 problems.

I ENCOURAGE ALL OF YOU THAT NOW HAVE FS5 TO UPLOAD YOUR THE PROBLEMS,
BUGS, ETC. THAT YOU FIND WITH FS5 AND RELATED PROGRAMS-TO SHARE WITH
THE REST OF US!!

FOR THE RECORD:  I am running FS5 on a 386/40 system with a Trident
8900, 1MB video card, a CA Products joystick, and a SoundBlaster Pro
sound card.  I am using MSDOS 5.0 (Because MSDOS 6.0 isn't worth it)
along with QEMM 7.02, partial SuperStor Pro compression of second
physical hard drive.  Ooops almost forgot...have 8MB of RAM.

The latest FS5 notes from here in "Butterfly Town" USA:
1.  The biggest news is that FS5 is "downward" compatible with FS4
and FS4/ASD STATIC (SC1 and SCN) scenery files ONLY!!!  If you run
FS4 static scenery on FS5 the *.DY1 files DO NOT RUN!  If the FS5
dynamic scenery is "on" what you get is FS5 dynamic scenery running
with FS4 staTic scenery which makes no sense because of the difference
in locations/coordinate systems!
2.  The FS5 "Map view" is useless at dawn/dusk/night...goes gray/black.
3.  FS5 may may only be compatible with QEMM and Microsoft's EMM386
memory managers.  It seems to NOT WORK correctly with NETROOM 3.0 (Helix
Software)-version 3.02.  The symptoms are either a temporary scenery
"freeze" or a total lockup requiring a hard reboot.
4.  Add to the list of what should have been in FS5:
	a. An inertial reference system like ATP.  It allows you to
	enter a reference point location in any coordinate system and
        then gives you steering cues to	that Lat/long, etc.
	b. ABILITY TO RUN FS4 DYNAMIC SCENERY WITH FS4 STATIC SCENERY!
	c. Autopilot NAV1 Lock that works. 
5.  Where are the mountains around South Lake Tahoe?  Not visible
when sitting on the runway!  No snow in winter there either!
6.  Not impressed at all with the "blinking" effect when flying in
a cloud layer.
7.  No thunderstorms or really bad weather????
8.  Sparse scenery example: Paris has the Eiffel Tower and one other
building in the base FS5 scenery.  Munich is just as sparse.

FS5.."AS REAL AS IT GETS".......NOT!!!
