The Thread I'm Loving Now . . .

Silk & Ivory
by Brown Paper Packages

We had this thread in the shop for while, but I had never until now used it extensively. I works best on 13-14 mesh canvas and I usually work on 18 mesh. However, I found a several canvases from Landmark designs on 14 mesh that intrigued me. The colors in the Silk and Ivory were perfect for vibrant colors on the canvases. I finally had a chance to use "Pink Cow"!

Currently, Silk and Ivory comes in 110 wonderful colors. It is a softer, non-divisable thread made of 50% silk and 50% Merino Wool imported from Switerland. The skeins are 28.8 yards. Since it is a softer thread, I try not to use a very long length. Opening the skein and cutting twice results in a good working length of about 22 inches. If you need to "unstitch" I would not re-use the thread as it can fuzz with extended use. It feels heavenly and the range of colors is really lovely. I am sorry I had not tried this thread years ago.

Unfortunately, Brown Paper Packages does not have a web site, and they do not sell direct. However I am listing their email address if you want to contact them about shops in your area. I do have the entire line in stock if you would wish to order the threads from me.

You can contact them at bpp@one.net.
