A New York City-based not-for-profit theater company formed in 2004, Friendly Fire's primary attraction is to plays that entrap the sympathies of an audience and then discompose them. Its highly successful inaugural production, Hecuba starring Kristin Linklater, was presented at The Culture Project at 45 Bleecker in October 2004.

In one of numerous enthusiastic reviews for our first effort, The Village Voice called our Hecuba "disturbingly resonant." The Wall Street Journal said our 2008 production of A Touch of the Poet, which it chose as one of the three best revivals of the year, "packs the punch of a bullet in the belly." These are definitions to which we will always aspire.
