Kenneth Thomas, 39, of Baxley died Sunday May 17, 1987 at home. The Appling County native had been a resident of California for several years before returning to Appling County 13 years ago. He was owner of an auto body repair shop.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Thelma Christy of Baxley; one sister, Mrs. Glenda Freeman of Ventura, California; two brothers, James L. Thomas of Jacksonville, North Carolina and Gerald L. Thomas of Cumming, Georgia. Five nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 20, 1987 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home. The Rev. Johnnie Courson officiated. Interment was in Omega Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leonard Poole, Danny Britt, Glenn Griffin, David Earl Carter, Jerry Beasley and Keith Miles.
The special musical selections were by Mrs. Brenda Youmans.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
