Tanteidan Magazine Volume 10

Of the two volumes I own, I like this one best.  It contains diagrams for a "classic" model, Jun Maekawa's devil, as well as some very good diagrams for other models, and some awesome crease patterns.  In addition, each magazine has a "photo gallery," which generally consists of about 4 photos of incredible origami.  Each volume consists of six magazines, and each magazine has a diagram for a Tomoko Fuse modular, a flower project by Tomoko Tanaka, and diagrams for one or more intermediate to complex models, in addition to several articles in Japanese about a range of origami-related topics.

Difficulty: Low Intermediate to Complex

Diagram quality:  Excellent (computer diagrams only)

Model quality:  Excellent

"Purity":  Unless you won't fold modulars or multi piece flower arrangements, most models in the book are "pure" (only the flower arrangements have optional cuts).

Magazine No. 55 (first in vol. 10):

Model Name-Creator

Difficulty, Review

Basic Heptagon Box-Tomoko Fuse

Intermediate, Two pieces (3 with flower twist).

Shikishi Hyakka (flower)-Tomoko Tanaka

Low Intermediate, 25 pieces of different sizes.
Photo Gallery Excellent photos: Flowers, dinosaurs, Ancient Dragon, Kangaroos.
Dyeing used paper-Hiroaki Takai An article with photos about dyeing envelopes and other paper.
Kangaroo-Seiji Nishikawa Intermediate, 71 steps, 2 pieces, mother kangaroo with baby.  Not bad, and the faces are very good.
Plesiosaur-Seiji Nishikawa Intermediate, 40 steps.  Not bad, but there are far better dinosaurs with the same difficulty.
Rabbit-Seiji Nishikawa Intermediate, 48 steps, 2 pieces.  Better than the previous two models, but could still use some work.
Ancient Dragon-Satoshi Kamiya (CP) Ultra-complex.  The crease pattern for Satoshi Kamiya's Ancient Dragon.  Incredible.  I hope to include tips for this on the site at some point.

Magazine No. 56:

Model Name-Creator Difficulty, Review
Basic Nonagon Box-Tomoko Fuse Intermediate, Two pieces
Lotus Flower-Tomoko Tanaka Low Intermediate, 20 pieces of different sizes.
Photo Gallery Photos: Lotus Flower, Nonagon Box, Dolls
Devil-Jun Maekawa Complex, 139 steps.  Excellent model and diagrams.
Devil-Jun Maekawa (CP) Complex.  I've heard that this crease pattern produces a different model than the one that is diagrammed, but I can't see the difference.
