with 100 People...

Then,
49 of them are men, and 51 of them are women.
95 of them are Chinese, 2 of them are Filipino, and 3 of them are from other nationalities.
17 of them are children under the age of 15, and 11 of them are seniors over the age of 65.
19 people pay income tax to be used by a 7 people government body and civil organizations.

But after the SARS outbreak in this 100 people village,
10 people used to dine out every night, now only 1 person go out for dinner.
21 people used to go to school, now they have to stay at home.
48 people used to go to work, 15 of them who were in retail, restaurant, or hotel business might be losing their jobs.
35 people worry about contracting the SARS virus, even though only 0.01 person is confirmed with SARS infection so far.
only 1 person is working at the public hospital or government health departments fighting this SARS war for the rest of the 99 people.

So, for the future of this village,
people need to stay together.
people need to be aware that if everyone pay extra close attention to their personal hygienes, the chance of getting infected would be very low.
people need to go out and live a normal life, so that those 15 people would not lose their job.
people should pay respect to that one medical worker who is still fighting this war for the entire village right now.

The above numbers were summarized from data of various public sources. Salute to the world's health care workers in the war of SARS. Wishing everybody good health.
