Since 2003 "Chip"served as the
Commander, U.S. Marine Forces Pacific; Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific; and Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Bases,
Pacific, headquartered at Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii until his retirement in August of 2005 after 37 years with the USMC.
Chip held the position of Chief Operating Officer with the United States Olympic
Committee from September 2005 until spring of 2006.
On May 13, 2009 Chip was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of Defense, Asian and Pacific Security Affairs.
Prior to his White House appointment he managed his own consultant corporation, WCG and Associates International,
LLC, concentrating on national security policy, defense, and Asian security issues and resided in Colorado.
