I've
had a passion for drawing and painting since I was very young.
This passion developed through my school years as I added skills
and vision to my work. I have found inspiration to express the impossible
in my illustrations; worlds that exist only in my imagination. I
love making the unreal look real.
During my higher education at Cal State Fullerton,
I worked for the university's "Graphic Services and Photo Lab,"
illustrating flyers, banners and other types of campus advertising.
Before my graduation from CSUF with a BFA in illustration, I had
work published in Orange Coast Magazine. Since then my work experience
has encompassed a number of freelance and staff positions in portraiture,
magazine illustration, and cartooning. My work saw frequent appearances
in the trade magazines of Bobit Publishing as I began to get experience
in the professional realm of illustration.
My skills at portraiture, an arsenal of drawing
and painting techniques and my passion for rendering the imaginary
led to my involvement in the industry of collectible card games
and role-playing games. I worked both freelance and (for about 4
years) on staff for Alderac Entertainment Group, illustrating a
number of game products, from cards to book and package covers.
I had a hand in creating artwork for their many game lines, including
Legend of the Five Rings, Clan War, Deadlands:Doomtown, 7th Sea,
Warlord and the yet-to-be-released Shadowforce Archer. My freelance
career has extended from AEG's products to Wizards of the Coast's
"Magic: The Gathering" card game, Sabertooth Games/Games Workshop's
"Warhammer 40K" card game, and Pinnacle Entertainment's "Hell on
Earth" role-playing game to name a few.
Currently, I am working as a freelance artist,
seeking to expand my portfolio into the fiction book cover arena
as well as growing my work for other game and magazine publishing
companies.
Thank you for your interest in my work. I
hope my portfolio piques your imagination. Please don't hesitate
to contact
me if you are interested in having my skills enhance your publications
or projects.
