Abbreviations:
Number = the number of double stitches between the picots
R = ring
C = chain
+ = joining
- = picot


Ribon: Size 30 DMC Cebelia thread
Begin with the cluster of three rings at the end of the ribbon:
R 5 - 5 - 5 - 5, C 5 - 5 - 5 - 5, R 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 , C 5 - 5 - 5 - 5, R 5 + 5 + 5 - 5
Tat the 1st side by repeating the following 17 times:
C 5 - 5, R 5 + 5 - 5 - 5 Round the corner:
R 5 + 5 - 5 - 5, C 5 - 5 - 5 - 5, R 5 + 5 + 5 - 5 , C 5 - 5 - 5 - 5, R 5 + 5 + 5 - 5
Tat the 2nd side by repeating the following 16 times:
C 5 - 5, R 5 + 5 + 5 - 5
The last ring and chain are:
R 5 + 5 + 5 + 5, C 5 - 5


Size 30 DMC Cebelia thread

Start with the bottom butterfly:
R 10 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 10, R 10 + 10 - 10,
R 10 - 10 - 10, R 10 + 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 10

Attatch the next butterfly to the big wings of the butterfly you just made:
R 10 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 10, R 10 + 10 + 10,
R 10 + 10 - 10, R 10 + 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 10

These are quick and everyone loves them.

This thread is NOT twisted tight enough, so the lace is kind of limp.
But as you can see! The colors are saturated and the varigation is short.
It is really fun to tat with.
