Looking for expert technology development services for Semiconductor or Advanced Technology Manufacturing?

Prefer high quality, accurate results at a reasonable cost?

OUR EXPERTISE

Expertise includes technology development, new product introduction, equipment for volume production, and international transfers.

SOME QUESTIONS FOR YOU

Are you concerned about an advanced manufacturing project days, weeks, or even months behind schedule?

Could there be a fundamental technology problem, an over-reliance on underdeveloped technology, or poorly supported manufacturing equipment?

Is it time to consider alternatives?

FUNDAMENTAL STRATEGY

Our fundamental strategy is to identify and subsequently execute those improvements to design, control, operations, and product support programs which best enhance the overall manufacturing process.

CUSTOMER BENEFITS

Benefits include shorter time-to-market, higher return-on-investment, increased wafer yield, reduced downtime, increased market acceptance, increased product performance and quality, fewer mysterious product failures, and, of course, increased profitability.

Another key benefit is on-budget and timely deliveries on customer commitments.

All of this enhances your business viability.

A HISTORY OF INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO UNUSUAL TECHNICAL CHALLENGES IN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Branson/IPC: Developed the Direct Pumping technique of handling toxic process exhaust gases used in Aluminum Plasma Wafer Etching.  The technology consisted of a Vacuum Pumping System, supported by an External Oil Filtration Unit, and a Dedicated Scrubber for local abatement of toxic, reactive, and corrosive gases.  After replacing earlier technologies incorporating Cold Trap Gas Concentration SystemsDirect Pumping quickly became the semiconductor industry standard, setting the stage for the introduction shortly thereafter of Dry (Oil-free) Vacuum Pumps.
  • General Signal Thinfilm Company (& ASM America): Provided technical leadership for initial customer process qualifications and subsequent industry-wide acceptance of Vertical Semiconductor Furnace Technologies.  Developed innovative support techniques for the efficient commercial use of these technologies in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The results were extremely high level of capacity utilization, machine availability, cost effective operation, and product/process quality - an industry-first development.

OTHER MAJOR CAREER ASSIGNMENTS

  • Shibaura Mechatronics of Japan (U. S. office Shibatec): U. S. field service engineer and representative, focusing on microwave downstream plasma etching, metal sputtering, wafer and flat panel display (FPD) glass cleaning, and flip-chip bonding equipment.
  • Metron Technology: West Coast field service representative, supporting microwave downstream dry etch, rf plasma etch, focused ion beam (FIB) and precision micro-mechanical cleaving equipment for silicon. I co-developed the first successful technique for the precision mechanical cleavage of a silicon die.
  • Leybold Technologies of GermanyWest Coast field service engineer, specializing on dc and rf sputtering equipment, involving diverse applications of vacuum technology for production machinery.
