The following is some helpful advice about how to prepare a property for sale.

I've included a list of simple things one can do to improve the appearance of a property without spending a lot of money. For example:

Ensure your house is fresh smelling and aesthetically pleasing.

If closet or bedroom doors don't close easily, leave them ajar when showing the house so people won't struggle with them.

Put clothes and papers away, leaving counter space free of odds and ends. Clutter is unappealing to potential buyers.

Eliminate any barrier to the free flow of traffic in the property like the following:
- bulky or extra furniture
- house plants that stick out into traffic ways
- toys that are not put away
- beds not made, etc.

Try to look at your home from the buyers perspective - physically walk through it looking at it as if you were looking at it to purchase. Would you want to buy a home that wasn't as appealing as it could be?

Please remember that your REALTOR is on your side and you won't get paid until YOU GET RESULTS. Advice from a professional is useless unless you take it!
