PLEASE NOTE : You may find that it is just as fast, and not necessarily more expensive, to take the train from Paris to your
destination. You'll have the added benefits of comfort and scenery as you ride through France.
To compare your options, these sites may be helpful:
SNCF (National French railroad company has an English language option at the bottom left handside corner of the page)
From the EAST and WEST COASTS of the US, consider flying with Aer Lingus to Dublin. From Dublin you can fly straight
to Carcassonne on Ryan Air. Scheduling may require that you spend a n Airportight in Dublin. In my experience, the Dublin
Bewleys Airport Hotel offers great rooms at a very reasonable rate. It provides a free 24-hour shuttle and has a good cafeteria.
FROM PARIS you can fly regional airlines to PERPIGNAN, MONTPELLIER and BEZIERS.
Another attractive and sometimes cheaper option is to come VIA BARCELONA, and rent a car in Spain, or take a train to
Narbonne.
To TOULOUSE BLAGNAC AIRPORT
Several major international airlines fly into the Toulouse-Blagnac airport.
You can rent a car from any of the usual car rental companies . In the high season it is advisable to make a reservation.
The drive to Pépieux is about 2 1/2 hr long on the toll road.
If you arrive late you may prefer to spend the night close to the airport rather than tackle the freeway system jetlagged
and in the dark. Hotels are expensive and often full so you should definitely make a reservation. Our guests (and ourselves)
have received very good service at the Hotel Kyriad, a 2 ** hotel minutes away from the airport. Personnel is bilingual and
goes out of its way to be helpful. Breakfast is not included. See the link below.
To CARCASSONNE (AEROPORT SALVAZA)
Ryanair flies directly to Carcassonne from Dublin, several British cities and Brussels -Charleroi. If you have some flexibility
their fares can't be beaten.
You can pick up a rental car in Carcassonne, and once at the wheel you'll be in Pépieux in less than 30 minutes.
To BARCELONA Barcelona is only 2.5 to 3 hours away
from Pépieux by car or train (to Narbonne). It is a vibrant and exciting city to visit at either end of your journey. It's
a very comfortable drive on a first class highway, and an equally comfortable one by train as you ride along the Mediterranean
Sea. Several of our renters have opted for this itinerary and made a mid-journey stop in Girona to visit the Salvador Dali
Museum.
